After some rain and a bit of traffic affecting our start to the day, we were off and travelling on our truffling day out. The spirit of winter was definitely alive with many smiling faces and happy paws watching the world go by on Bella the dog welcoming bus.
Finnian, Roy, Amber, Eva, Lola and yes a Bella to meet Bella all had plenty of space to stretch their paws and get comfortable for their journey.
Once we got to our morning tea stop, the rain had eased and it was time to enjoy a run in the park, coffee and chocolate truffle from the wonderful Ballan Bakery. And boy did they run, it was hilarious watching Lola and Amber chase Finnian and Roy. Bella thought it necessary to test the water temperature of the stream – yep it was chilly. Eva was putting on her smiley face and just loved posing for photos with Dad.
Next stop – Black Cat Truffles and I think the pooches knew there were going to be Wimzee treats as they looked eagerly out of the windows, not snoozing now.
Sparkling wine and truffle butter is always a perfect way to start a truffle hunt and for the 2 legged folks to learn all about truffles. After all there was a bottle of sparkling at stake for the correct answers to the Truffle Trivia Quiz! However, not all cared about the sparkling wine – you could hear the pooches saying “yep enough learning about these truffles – lets go on our truffle treasure hunt”. Coooooommmmeeeee On!!!
Clever little mites they found all the treasure treats and then some more running needed to done. Busy life!
Such a cosy shop and kitchen at Black Cat Trufles – pawfect for a wine tasting of the Toodle and Buster range before heading off to lunch.
Next stop – sleepy time on Bella while Mums and Dads had a gorgeous 3 course lunch at Farmers Arms Hotel Creswick. I think the truffle ice-cream was the favourite .
Congratulations to Bella’s Mum who won the Truffle Trivia Quiz and a bottle of Toodle and Buster Sparkling from Armadale Cellars. Fabulous photos of Eva got her the Woof Book from Ella+Friends – nice collage!
Thanks for joining us on a day of all things truffles.
