13 April 2014 – Yarra Valley

doggy-vineyard-tours_0463Praying to the weather gods certainly paid off on Sunday, with a magnificent 22 degrees, sunshine and light winds, absolutely perfect for a doggy vineyard tour to the Yarra Valley. 21 gorgeous pooches asked 23 humans to come along for the ride. Diesel was so excited to welcome back Artie, Portia, Frankie, Chucky, Gyspy and Bertie. It was play time all round at Lilydale Lake where Diesel got to meet another Kelpie Cottage puppy, Tully (both say hello to Mumma Jane and Puppa Charlie). It was wonderful to see the slightly timid Harry greeting and sniffing all his new friends, well done Harry, the Gourmet Pawprints team were very proud of you for joining in on the fun. Wine tasting at St Huberts was another relaxing event with the tasting being conducted on the lawn and the smiley Heather racing around topping up glasses and sharing her knowledge of the amazing wines on offer.  The whole Gourmet Pawprints team were on this trip and it was great to get a group photo. Jas and Robyne ran the show with their usual ease while Kerry and Diesel sat back and enjoyed the atmosphere. Geoff kept a smile on his dial even with the sometimes challenging road closures. Wendy came along to get familiar with the Yarra Valley so she can sing our praises at the Dog Lovers Show in May and the talented Chief Events Officer, Amelia finally got to experience the business end of Gourmet Pawprints, instead of being the ‘behind the scenes’ guru. Well Done Team, such a pleasure having everyone together. Domaine Chandon was a welcome rest for the 4 legged guests with Missy and Coco chilling out on the lawn. A trip would not be complete without at least 1 Golden Retriever and this time we had two, confusing both called Monty.  Alfie, Daisy and Olive we happy to watch the more noisy guests in the group. Scruffy and Gizmo were happy together with Barney not too far away. Tom and Honey were keen to get up close and personal at lunch. It was wonderful to see so many friends from different parts of Melbourne catch up. A relaxing lunch for the whole group in particular the Kendells who enjoying their send off for Sheridan to Sydney (Good Luck with the job!). Gavin at Train Trak enthusiastically welcome our group again where it was birthday celebrations all round. Happy Birthday to Portia, Harry and Honey, we hope you enjoyed our doggy cupcakes. And all of it captured on video by the very talented Gavin Henderson Thank you for choosing to spend your Sunday with Gourmet Pawprints.
