6 Aug 2017 Truffle Hunt

A very chilly start to the last Truffle Hunt for 2017, however all the pooches didn’t seem to notice. It was great to welcome back Cocoa who had her special jacket on letting the others know in her best Kath and Kim voice “I have issues”, so very cute. Welcome to our first timers Rufus, Peggy, Caesar, Meg, Molly, Poppy, Elmo and Lola, so very glad you joined us, thanks for bringing your fur-parents along for the day. Bella was full to the brim with the excited chatter from peeps and pooches as we traveled to Ballan for morning tea. With only a wee break at the park before the rain descended, Bella was back in hosting mode for morning tea and a mighty fine job she did.

Another first with us seeing snow on our way to Black Cat Truffles – bizzare! However as soon as we arrived at truffiere, the weather eased and it was time for the truffling to begin. We were welcomed by the fabulous hospitality of Lynette, Andres, Narla, Ella and Harry.

Rufus was alert to the outside noises so kept guard while the others enjoyed their massages over lunch. Peggy was fast asleep in just minutes after a back rub. Caesar already smelt so nice after a recent groom but he did like his head and ears massaged. All the little ones, Meg, Molly, Poppy, Elmo and Lola were incredibly relaxed and happy to snuggle on their blankets. We don’t think they even noticed their fur-parents were off sipping, chatting and eating their way through lunch. Cocoa and Rufus kept a very close eye on a skateboarder out the window, you can trust those sneaky wheels.

The team smiled all the way home with the laughter and banter as we cruised down the freeway, such a wonderful sound to hear people who have obviously had a great day meeting like minded folks.

Congratulations to Caesar on winning the Shelby Memorial photo competition sponsored by Armadale Cellars.

We hope to see you all again soon.
