No April Fools on this tour, despite an attempt to say Bella the dog welcoming bus was sick and needed to take the day off – nope not one person fell for the feeble attempt at the joke! Off we headed on our Dandenong Ranges Doggy Winery Tour. We welcomed some well seasoned frequent travellers, Teddy and Tammy who were celebrating their Mum’s very special 60th birthday – we love an excuse to eat cake. Welcome back to Harry who joined us after celebrating this Mum and Dad’s wedding the previous weekend, I think he thought ‘time for me now’. With a little help from Chief Paw Officer – translating how the day goes for our first timers Gertie, Rufus, Ellie, and Maggie got the hang of things pretty quickly.
‘Springboard’ Ellie had so much energy and was skipping in the air for treats. She found a friend with Harry – very cute watching them wander the vines together. Just be sure to keep those hairy sheep away from me – Ellie was so impressed that her nap at lunch was disturbed by the local sheep in the paddock.
We think Teddy and Tammy just come along for the massages and movie over lunch – which may have explained why the were eager to get to the top of walk at the Alfred Nicholas Gardens.
Big day for Rufus – he was chaperoning his Mum on her first Doggy Winery. He was pleased to have a nap after his massage at lunch – too tired for the movie. Maybe Mum will rent Hachi for him another time.
New BFF’s, Gertie and Maggie needed to be next to each other all day – maybe it was a Lab thing! Both were content to watch the world go by over lunch and take a few naps complete with snores. Exhausting work this swim, play, eat business. It was also hilarious watching them tackle each other at Seville Estate.
Diesel can be so patient when another ball obsessed pooch joins him, and Harry certainly loved his ball. However, Harry was happy to give the ball back if he got a treat, such a clever negotiator.
Congratulations Gertie on winning the photo of the day – cute pics!
Thank you for the kind words to the GP team from Wendy about enjoying her birthday with us. “Dear Kerry and Sharon, just a message to say a very big thank you for making my birthday so special and for the beautiful cake. I had the most amazing day with you all, I will never forget the day”
