8 July 2017 Truffle Hunt

Welcome back Niko and Louie, so great to see you again. Hello to our first timers, Scooter, Chutney, Buddy and Arthur.. There was some sun that greeted us on the first Truffle Hunt for 2017 admittedly not warm sun. The pooches were very excited as they gathered on the beach for their socialising time. Neko and his Mum were visiting from Sydney and this was their second tour, well done Neko, fast clocking up those frequent Bella miles but Louie was just a head with three tours under his collar now. Buddy was very prepared with his Mum making sure all was sorted for his big day out. All aboard Bella as we ventured off to find all things truffles. First stop morning tea in Ballan and hand delivered from the team at Ballan Bakery, thanks Louise, it was fabulous. Scooter and Chutney thought it would be great fun to chase Diesel and his ball, and the not so quiet Kelpie did not mind one bit, he loves a bit of competition. The littlies looked on with amusement and decided to play their own games getting paws wet and muddy, now that was fun.

Back on Bella it was time to head off to Black Cat Truffles and some warmth in their Truffle Shed. Thanks Lynette for showing everyone about the magical world of truffles, we didn’t mind one bit that Ella was having a rest day, it has been a busy season for her so far. The very special truffle treasure hunt had all the dogs getting their sniffing gear in order and it was a race to find them. Hilarious watching them dig up their edible toys and the truffle inside.

Lunch at the Farmers Arms Hotel, Creswick was a sensational 3 courses and it was great to be the warmth. The pooches were queued up for their massage all wanting Angela a trained canine myotherapist to be weaving their fur. With treats and snoozes it was a quiet time on Bella.

Congratulations Arthur on winning the Shelby Memorial Photo Competition sponsored by Armadale Cellars and congratulations Chutney and Scooter on getting almost all the Truffle Trivia questions right.

We hope you enjoyed maybe scrabbled eggs with your truffles today for breakfast.
