3 Sept 2016 Mornington Peninsula Doggy Winery Tour

Always glad when the Bureau of Meteorology says it is going to rain and gets it wrong, so very wrong! What a fabulous day to be out an about drinking wine and spending time with pooches! We welcomed all first timers to the Mornington Peninsula on our Doggy Winery Tour. What a cruisey group of dogs and yes the hoomans were pretty well behaved too! Hello to Jack, Honey, Bear, Panda and Roxy, it was wonderful to meet you.

After getting to know each other at Port Melbourne we settled into a leisurely trip down to Yabby Lake Vineyard for our first tasting. We were definitely wowed and welcomed by Narelle and her informative wine narrative. Thank you always wonderful visiting this award winning winery.

Flinders beach has probably one of the most magnificent vistas along this part of the Peninsula , with views stretching across Western Port Bay to Philip Island and beyond into the blue water of Bass Strait. It was any wonder Panda, Roxy and Honey decided to take in the view while Jack and Bear took to the beach.

With all the pooches plum tuckered out lunch was next for their Mums and Dads. Lani got them all cuddled up and resting while  keeping one eye on the movie Charlie and the Chocolate Factory and some munching on some pupcorn.

Merricks General Store is a foodie mecca, so many sights and smells from the aroma of the kitchen to the vastly stocked shelves of goodies. There was much banter happening over lunch and it was great to sit and enjoy each others company.

A stretch of 2 and 4 legs was in order after lunch before venturing off to the relaxing outdoor area of Stonier Winery. Thanks to Larry for entertaining us with his vast knowledge of the wines on tasting.

Congratulations Vee and Bear on winning the Woof book from Ella+Friends, you certainly got the prize for the most excited winner we have ever had. Honey was a well deserving runner up with a special treat.

We hope to see you all again soon.
