A bit of a chilly start to the day, however nothing was going to get in the way of these pooches having a pawfect day on their Yarra Valley Doggy Winery Tour. We welcomed first timers Coco, Sassy, Oscar, Milo, Harvey, Norman and Gertie, awesome pooches with some really fantastic adoption stories. So glad Gertie approved of the music with her favourite radio station playing – Gold 104.3, she settled very nicely in her crate.
Off we journeyed to our first stop – Lilydale Lake for some paw stretching walks before heading to St Huberts and the amazing hospitality of David for the first wine tasting of the day. Sunshine was now creeping into the day and warming those paws and hands. There was no stopping Oscar from running with our very talented carer -Bonnie, he just kept saying ‘more please’. That set off a chain reaction for all the pooches to have their turn lead running while Mum’s and Dad’s worked their way through the wines.
A gentle walk to Soumah and it was time for the exhausted pooches to curl up on Bella with Red Dog the movie, pupcorn, cuddles and treats from Bonnie. Cheeky Milo made certain he got lots of hugs. With Gertie settled in her crate, big brother Norman could now laze back looking out the window every so often when he could be bothered opening his eyes. Coco and Sassy so desperately wanted to snooze but also didn’t want to miss any action. Harvey on the other hand just plopped right back and closed his eyes, he knew there was more to come and wasn’t going to be too tired to miss out.
Lunch time for the hoomans and another wine tasting. Looked like the slow roasted lamb and gnocci was the favourite of the day.
With some more paw stretching and gazing at the magnificent scenery after lunch it was time to move onto the next winery.
Mary from Badgers Brook winery greeted us with her usual smile and style and attention detail with the tasting on the patio and pooches happy to laze and listen.
