It was an absolute pleasure welcoming back 10 out of our 16 human guests and their pampered pooches to our first Doggy Winery Tour of 2015 to Coombe Estate in the Yarra Valley.
Suzie the beloved greyhound was showing everyone just how these tours happen, an old hand now!
So much time and care goes into preparing our tours but having 2 large cruise ships docked at Station Pier and the loading of The Spirit of Tassie all happening at the convenient time of 8:30 Sunday morning, chaos was the only word that seemed fitting!
Geoff and Bentley very sensibly parked the bus away from the masses and we took an extra walk to meet them! Gemma our newest team member and on her first training day, so effortlessly lead everyone to our new meeting point and got us all sorted
Lilydale Lake greeted us with open arms and a gentle breeze. Diesel was sure to note who was part of our special event and who needed to ‘pay’. Cheeky puppy!
Bonnie and Angus were very excited to show their new friends Ronnie, Opie and Munro the ropes at Lilydale Lake.
As we casually arrived at St Huberts – greeted by Jason, it was time for Buckley and Penny to show these working dogs how fast they can run around. So very cute! Mr Darcy the gorgeous Italian Greyhound was happy to listen and learn from Mum’s jacket.
As the trolley came out with the wine purchases, Geoff scrambled to make room. Little did he know that this quantity would double by the end of the day and include a large wine rack!
Coda and Phil were none too impressed with the vineyard scare guns which are used to frighten birds around the vines and we don’t blame them! They handled it very well and we will make sure to stay on the other side next time. Well done guys for being so brave.
We don’t think Bailey’s tail stopped wagging the whole day, everything smelled great, tasted great and was awfully great!
Coombe- the amazing and beautifully restored home of Dame Nellie Melba was a perfect venue for a special Doggy Winery Tour. With a fully enclosed lawn area for the pooches to explore and relax, and our hooman private dining table just metres away, all was very happy, if not a bit warm after the sun reared its head! Thank you Faye and Jody for your wonderful, lively and very professional service!
The day was topped off with a leisurely stroll along the historic Elm Avenue where the pooches got to sniff and wander.
From all at Gourmet Pawprints, thank you for being a part of an amazing day!
