A glorious if not a bit chilly Melbourne Winter’s day greeted us at Port Melbourne for the essential sniff and social time for the pooches. Welcome back Maggie, Tess and Tilly and a big hello to Anouk, Obelix, Charlie and Sophie.
It was time to lick Bella’s windows and get comfy for the journey, we could tell each pooch was eyeing of the other to see who was going to get those truffles first.
With a stop for morning tea and a ‘wee break’ they all managed to romp and roam while the fur-parents watch on and enjoyed their coffees. Charlie and Sophie were definitely going to give the big kiddies a run for their money. Maggie was just content chasing Diesel who was chasing the ball, just for a change.
A necessary sparkling wine greeted us at Black Cat Truffles along with Lynette and her team and boy was the truffling worthwhile with a massive 500g of black magic gently sucked from the ground.
The all important pooch truffle treasure hunt saw a little competition come out, well maybe except for Obelix who just couldn’t work out what all the fuss was about. Anouk and Tess were well an truly into their treats before Charlie, Sophie, Tilly and Maggie. Once the smell started to waft their way, everyone was in on the deal.
There was a bit of a queue over lunch with all the pooches wanting massages and it seems pedicures as well. Boy, we must get more trashy mags on board for the extended ‘spa’ time. We think Tilly kicked off this new treatment – such a gorgeous girl.
Congratulations to Tess for winning the Shelby Memorial Photo Competition sponsored by Armadale Cellars – great pics.
