22 Aug 2015 – Hike and Lunch Tour

You would have been forgiven for thinking Spring or even Summer had arrived very early for our Hike and Lunch Tour, with the amazing weather that greeted us in Port Melbourne – practically a balmy morning. No jackets or scraves to be found!

Bella was looking particularly special with some gorgeous flowers from Maria welcoming all guests as they boarded.

It was a casual walk from Merricks to Red Hill – particularly for Baci, who stopped to smell every tree, just savouring the moments. It was great to see Pugsley again and boy did those little legs scoot along the trail. Tiring out Rafa was going to be a different matter – 1 year old Birthday Boy was so excited.

Martha and Jemma bonded very quickly on the trip down, so it was understandable they wanted to walk together – being besties now and everything!

Charlie and Polly met us at Merricks and they just couldn’t wait to get going. Polly was very cheeky over lunch, if it wasnt the pizza and pasta getting her attention it was a treat bag just close enough to lick.

Lester and Gemma decided a shorter walk was in order and opted for the 3km walk or in Lester’s case, being carried for 3km. Which was perfectly understandable for a 15year old Minature Dachsund. Gemma on the otherhand would have been quite happy to run the trail, so much energy.

Red Hill Epicurean was in full flight with the weather bringing out lots of people. As always, our lunch was a vast array of wood-fired pizza, pasta and other goodies.

Happy Birthday to Darren, Maria and Rafa, thank you so much for choosing to share your special day with us.

Congratulations Pugsley for winning the Ella+Friends Woof6! book. Very cute photo.

Welcome to the team Lani, our latest Local Dog Carer who is studying her Certificate IV in Companion Animal Studies – great job!
